This week we began our interviews with professionals outside of school. We visited The John Gray Centre and interviewed Local History Officer Dr Hanita Ritchie who told us all about her important work in the history centre and about the interesting child-friendly activities available in East Lothian libraries. The MCPs did a wonderful job of interviewing Dr Ritchie about what makes rights real for children, and we had a great chat about children’s rights practice in general. Next, we visited the museum to find out about the sort of professions people in Haddington and East Lothian had in the past and we watched a short film about the history of the county. We also visited an exhibition of work by some of East Lothian’s visual artists and craft makers and got lots of inspiration for future art activities. Thanks to Dr Ritchie and the whole library team for a wonderful start to our professional interviews.
