Children's Parliament Investigates...

What Do Professionals Need?

Our last session of the year! And a great way to see off 2021 – we spent the morning in a local community hall with a larger group of professionals (including the adults who had been helping us make puppets) to talk about Children’s Rights and ask the adults to do the thinking.

After a long term of hard work from our MCPs we decided it was about time some of the adults started to come up with some solutions to the problems the children have been identifying. We asked our visitors to imagine themselves as Human Rights Defenders, to create an ‘obstacle course’ of the things which could prevent professionals from doing their best for children, and to create a Wish List of things to overcome these obstacles. Meanwhile the MCPs acted as observers; asking tricky questions and offering their viewpoints.
