Samhain Stock Taking and Monster Making

This week we learned about the ancient origins of Halloween, the Gaelic festival of Samhain – a time of stock taking after harvest before the next part of the year. Then we did our own stock taking of our investigation. We reflected on our emerging themes, and then planned for the next part of the project while eating monster cakes to celebrate the success of our first adult interviews. We wrote a poem about all the monstrous things we would throw away in a magic spell to improve children’s rights, then made Zombie Apocalypse Monsters in Space to represent different children’s rights abuses
